Undergraduate Minor Requirements

The 21-hour Minor in Creative Writing offers students maximum flexibility to pursue the kinds of writing that will best serve their artistic interests and professional goals. Along with a multi-genre Introductory Course (which counts toward the General Education requirements as Fine Arts credit), the program offers courses in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, as well as many special topics courses from which to choose. These range from applied skills classes such as audio and digital storytelling, editing, web design, and small press publishing, to just about every form imaginable: investigative essays, TV and film, novel writing, graphic novel, experimental forms, video game writing, and many more.
